Description

The VELUX VSS M02 Solar Opening Skylight 780x780mm is a premium solar-powered skylight for pitched roofs, designed for rooms that need natural light, fresh air and remote operation without hard-wiring the skylight motor. It suits bathrooms, laundries, robes, hallways, bedrooms, compact kitchens and smaller living zones. The solar panel recharges a hidden battery-operated system, while the wireless keypad makes opening and closing simple. A built-in rain sensor automatically closes the skylight when rain is detected, and the insect screen helps keep ventilation comfortable.

With a 637x599mm internal glass size, approximately 0.38m² daylight area, 0.51m² ventilation area and approx. 26.5kg weight excluding flashing, VSS M02 is a smart daylight and airflow upgrade. Pair it with VELUX EDW flashing or VELUX Custom Flashing M02.

Flashing and roof compatibility

VELUX EDW flashing for tiled roofs

For suitable tiled roofs, pair the VSS M02 with VELUX EDW flashing. EDW flashing is designed for profiled roofing such as concrete or terracotta tiles and similar profiled roof materials.

Custom flashing for metal roofs

For metal roof profiles, use the matching VELUX Custom Flashing M02 Skylight for FS, VS and VSS 780 x 780mm skylights. Confirm whether your roof is corrugated, TrimDeck, Kliplok or another metal profile before ordering.

  • Minimum 15° pitch is required for VSS pitched roof skylights.
  • The matching M02 custom flashing is used for FS, VS and VSS 780 x 780mm skylights.
  • VELUX EDW suits tiled roofs and some low-profile metal roofs such as corrugated/spandek, but is not suitable for Klip-Lok or Trimdek profiles.
  • Custom Colorbond flashing is commonly preferred for corrugated, TrimDeck and Kliplok metal roof installations.
  • Confirm roof pitch, rafter spacing, roof profile, water flow and skylight orientation before ordering.
