Custom Flashings for Pitched Roof Velux Skylights

These custom base flashing for Velux skylights are designed to fit perfectly on all roof profiles, providing a secure and weatherproof seal. With precision engineering and high-quality materials, they offer reliable protection for your skylight, giving you peace of mind and enhancing the longevity of your investment.

Low-pitched roofs: VELUX pitched roof skylights (FS, VS, VSE) are typically designed for roof pitches of 15 degrees or more. A custom-made pitch adapter flashing is required to ensure a watertight installation for pitches between 0 and 15 degrees, or when you need flashing to match your roof colour.

High-profile roofing: While VELUX’s standard EDW flashing is designed for tile and corrugated iron, it may not be suitable for high-profile roof materials over 120 mm.

Specific metal profiles: Standard VELUX EDW flashing is not recommended for metal roof profiles such as Trimdek, Klip-Lok, or Colorbond. Custom base flashing is needed for these types of roofs to ensure proper waterproofing.

Superior Watertight Seal: The primary benefit of any flashing is to direct water away from the skylight and off the roof, preventing leaks. Custom flashings are specifically designed to integrate seamlessly with your unique roof profile (e.g., specific metal deck or tile types), ensuring a precise and effective weather-tight seal that standard flashings might not achieve.

Compatibility with Diverse Roof Types: Standard Velux flashings may not be suitable for all Australian roof types, such as Klip-Lok®, Trimdek®, or certain tile profiles. Custom flashings fill this gap, making Velux products compatible with a wider variety of materials, including Colorbond® steel, aluminium, copper, and stainless steel.

Enhanced Aesthetic Appearance: Custom flashings are designed to blend with the roofline, providing a sleek, low-profile, and professional finish. They can be powder-coated to match the complete range of Colorbond® colors, ensuring the skylight installation complements the existing exterior look of your home.
Optimized Performance for Low Pitches: For roofs with a pitch less than the Velux minimum requirement (usually 15 degrees for pitched roof skylights), custom pitch adapter flashings can be used. These raise the skylight to an optimum angle, preventing water pooling, reducing condensation, and ensuring the product performs correctly.
Increased Durability: Made from high-quality, durable materials like Colorbond® or Zincalume® steel, our custom flashings are built to withstand harsh weather conditions and boast superior corrosion resistance compared to some standard materials.
Easier Installation: Our custom base flashings ship pre-assembled in one piece, which minimizes assembly time on site and reduces the potential for installation errors.
Compliance with Building Standards: In certain areas, like those with high bushfire attack levels (BAL), specific non-combustible materials are required. Custom flashings can be manufactured from non-combustible materials to meet these strict building codes.
