Description

The VELUX VSE S01 Electric Opening Skylight 1140x700mm is a wide premium motorised skylight for pitched roofs, designed for rooms that need broad natural light, fresh air and convenient remote operation. It suits kitchens, living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, laundries, hallways and wide daylight zones. The electric motor is controlled by wireless keypad, making it ideal for out-of-reach locations. A built-in rain sensor automatically closes the skylight when rain is detected, while the insect screen helps keep airflow comfortable.

With a 997x519mm internal glass size, approximately 0.52m² daylight area, 0.40m² ventilation area and approx. 33.57kg weight excluding flashing, VSE S01 is a practical wide-format daylight and airflow upgrade. Pair it with VELUX EDW flashing or VELUX Custom Flashing S01.

Flashing and roof compatibility

VELUX EDW flashing for tiled roofs

For suitable tiled roofs, pair the VSE S01 with VELUX EDW flashing. EDW flashing is designed for profiled roofing such as concrete or terracotta tiles and similar profiled roof materials.

Custom flashing for metal roofs

For metal roof profiles, use the matching VELUX Custom Flashing S01 Skylight for FS, VS, VSE and VSS 1140 x 700mm skylights. Confirm whether your roof is corrugated, TrimDeck, Kliplok or another metal profile before ordering.

  • Minimum 15° pitch is required for VSE pitched roof skylights.
  • The matching S01 custom flashing is used for FS, VS, VSE and VSS 1140 x 700mm skylights.
  • The custom S01 flashing can be selected for tile, corrugated, TrimDeck and Kliplok roof profiles, subject to roof pitch and project requirements.
  • Backflashing or a back tray is strongly recommended for many corrugated, TrimDeck and Kliplok situations.
  • Confirm roof pitch, rafter spacing, roof profile, water flow and skylight orientation before ordering.

The VSE S01 includes a pre-installed motor, control system, rain sensor and wireless keypad. It is supplied with a 2 metre lead to plug into a power point, so power access should be confirmed before installation.

Roof and shaft planning

Installation planning should consider roof pitch, rafter spacing, roof profile, water flow, flashing type, shaft depth, plaster finishing and access for lifting a 33.57kg skylight, excluding flashing.

Supply only

Supply-only is useful for builders, roofers and renovators who already have trades and electrical preparation arranged.

Supply and install
