VELUX Skylight Installation in Kew East
Two fixed VELUX skylights were installed on the second-storey tiled roof of a new home in Kew East—one for the bathroom and one for the ensuite.

Two fixed skylights sized for separate bathroom spaces
This Kew East skylight installation used two different VELUX FS sizes to suit separate upstairs wet areas. The bathroom received an FS S01 fixed skylight, while the ensuite received the narrower FS C06 model.

Skylight positions coordinated during construction
The photographs show the home at timber-framing stage, with roof insulation installed and the intended skylight locations marked before the roof openings were completed.
Because the project was integrated into a new build, Central Skylights’ scope was limited to supply and roof installation. The builder was responsible for the internal framing, plaster shafts and finishing.
From marked framing locations to weatherproof roof installations
Position confirmation
The bathroom and ensuite locations were identified against the internal framing and roof structure.
Opening preparation
The roof openings were formed to suit the two confirmed VELUX model sizes.
Skylight fitting
The FS S01 and FS C06 fixed skylights were secured into their framed roof openings.
EDW flashing
VELUX EDW flashings were used to integrate each skylight with the concrete tile roof.
Exterior completion
Tiles were dressed around the flashing components to complete the roof installation.
Builder handover
The internal openings remained ready for the builder’s later shaft framing, plastering and painting.

Skylight sizing matched to each room and roof opening
The bathroom and ensuite did not use identical skylights. The wider S01 and narrower C06 provided two different opening proportions while remaining within the same VELUX FS fixed-skylight family.
The exact design reason for each size is not documented, so the page does not claim specific lighting calculations or room-layout constraints. The completed photographs do confirm two separate roof installations with different proportions.
